The Architectural Intent

Positioned on the 48th floor overlooking the Arabian Sea, The Monochrome Penthouse was conceived as a monolithic sanctuary above the frenetic energy of Mumbai. The client, an international art collector, demanded a residence that felt less like a traditional domestic interior and more like a private museum gallery.

Spatial Volumes & Proportions

The primary double-height living pavilion is anchored by a 7-meter high wall of unfilled, vein-matched Roman travertine. By concealing all MEP return grills, sound systems, and motorized solar shades into recessed perimeter reveals, the architecture retains an unbroken visual purity.

Bespoke Materiality

  • Primary Stone: Honed Italian Roman Travertine & Spanish Nero Marquina.
  • Joinery: Custom 6mm micro-fluted French white oak cabinetry with hairline brass inlays.
  • Illumination: 2700K indirect LED troughs with a color rendering index (CRI) exceeding 97, creating a warm, museum-grade glow at dusk.
  • Sanitary Suites: Monolithic bookmatched Statuario marble slab walls with unlacquered dark bronze minimalist tapware.

The result is an architectural statement where shadow, stone, and silence coexist in effortless harmony.
